The community of Bulilima District has partnered with Allied Timbers Zimbabwe to build Ndiweni school, Ngwana clinic and staff cottages. ATZ which is a wholly government company donated roofing timber, cement, doors, poles and fencing wire for the 3 projects. The handover ceremony was held at Ngwana clinic in Bulilima District yesterday where construction has already started. The initiative is a community based project where they supply the bricks, builders and carpenters while ATZ through its corporate social responsibility and investments program supports the project by providing roofing timber, cement, doors, ceiling and other building materials. This donation is the first in Matabeleland and the community sought partnership with Allied Timbers Zimbabwe. The handover was done by the chairman of ATZ, Mr. Itayi Ndudzo to the MP and Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Mangaliso Nqobizitha Ndhlovu.
However, this CSR investment is ATZ’s 5th through other partnerships with schools in Manicaland and other surrounding communities in Zimbabwe either through provision of construction materials, roofing timber, and Smart Beekeeping Training of Trainers projects to assist the vulnerable and youths in zimbabwe to self-sustain themselves.
